So what's going on in Russia?

Last night we were sitting at the table getting ready to begin family worship, and my husband had the iPad and asked me "Why is the Google logo a rainbow today?".  I thought for a second and said that I thought it was because the Olympics had just begun.  He had already been reading about it and he looked at me and shook his head and indicated that it was not that, stated that it had to do with "Russia's whole thing going on over there", meaning the boycott of the Olympics by the gay rights activists.  

Mmm, ok....we continued to prepare for worship.

Two seconds later my 7 year old says " I know what you're talking about".

"I don't think you do sweetie, we'll talk about it later."

"No, I KNOW! You act like I don't, but I do!"

"Babe, I really don't think you do and we'll talk about it after."

"But mom...!" (7 year olds can be pretty persistent, in case you don't have one yourself.)

So while her dad is passing out the handouts, she leans over and whispers in my ear "I KNOW that Russia is trying to shut down the JW.org website Mom, you don't have to whisper about it!" and sits back down, looking all satisfied with herself.

We had to admit, the girl is up on current world events.  :)
